Abstract

In August 1945, under the leadership of the Communist Party and President Ho Chi Minh, the Vietnamese people rose up as one to “use our own strength to liberate ourselves”, overthrowing the rule of Japanese fascists and the feudal regime, and winning national independence. On September 2, 1945, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, marking the official foundation of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. The victory of the August Revolution was a glorious milestone in the history of national founding and defense in the 20th century, opening a new era, the era of independence, freedom, and socialism. That victory stemmed from many factors, among which the leadership of the Communist Party and President Ho Chi Minh played a decisive role.
