The figure of Léo Figuères in the Golden Book of Nguyen Ai Quoc Party School

Abstract

Who was Léo Figuères? Why did he come to Vietnam and write an inscription in the Golden Book of the Nguyen Ai Quoc Party School? What is the significance of the lines he wrote? To answer these questions, this article presents three main points: 1) Léo Figuères, a genuine French communist; 2) Léo Figuères’ journey to Vietnam; 3) An analysis of the content of Léo Figuères’ inscription in the Golden Book of the Nguyen Ai Quoc Party School, dated May 2, 1950.
