Happiness index of Lang Son people in 2025

Abstract

Abstract: The article presents the research results of the happiness index of Lang Son people, including: happiness index related to essential areas of life; overall happiness index and happiness index of basic social groups. The survey data shows that the overall happiness index of Lang Son people reached 6.680/10 points. This is a high score compared to the general happiness index of Vietnamese people that has been published domestically and internationally. In the 9 areas used to measure people's happiness, the highest level of happiness belongs to “family, community, social relationships”; the lowest is “economic life, income, employment”. Among the basic social groups, the highest happiness index belongs to the group of “good living standards and above”; the lowest is the group of “poor and near-poor living standards”. Based on the description and analysis of the survey results, the article suggests two pillars of policy solutions to improve the happiness index and quality of life of Lang Son people, which are: 1) preserving and promoting traditional cultural values; and 2) creating a breakthrough to transform the socio-economic structure.
