Cultural and human values of Binh Dinh land: tradition and modernity

Abstract

Abstract: The article analyzes the distinctive cultural values and exemplary human qualities of Binh Dinh from tradition to the present. Drawing on secondary-source research, it synthesizes and examines core cultural and character values of this region, including patriotism, compassion, martial spirit, respect for literature and scholarly values, diligence, and “thàng hậu” (a local colloquialism denoting forthrightness coupled with benevolence). It also assesses contemporary dynamics of change in these cultural values and traits. On that basis, the article proposes recommendations to safeguard and promote the invaluable heritage and virtuous traditions of Binh Dinh’s culture and people in the modern context.
