Abstract

The paper systematically and deeply investigates the similarities and differences in Thai folk dance traditions across two typical regions of Vietnam: the Northwestern and Nghe An. Using a folkloric and cultural framework, the paper delves into key elements such as performance space, movement structures, costumes, and the role of community participation in dance activities. These aspects contribute to highlighting the intrinsic cultural diversity and dynamics of Thai culture throughout its adaptation and development. Through fieldwork observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, the paper affirms the intangible cultural value of Thai folk dance. At the same time, the paper proposes several solutions to preserve and promote this heritage in the context of modern society.
