Fostering Mathematical Modeling competency for 10th graders through teaching the topic of Linear Inequalities and Systems of Linear Inequalities in Two Variables
Abstract
The article proposes a number of measures to foster mathematical modeling capacity for 10th grade students through teaching the topic of inequalities and two-hidden first-order inequality systems, including: Using Practical problems related to the topic of inequalities and systems of first-order inequalities with two unknowns to train students to convert practical language into mathematical language, thereby establishing mathematical models; coordinate the use of GeoGebra software to support students in solving mathematical problems on the topic of inequalities and two-implicit first-order inequality systems in the established mathematical model; Organize students to verify the correctness of the solution on the established mathematical model.
