Structure and semantic features of titles of love songs in Vietnamese and English language

Abstract

As society develops, people’s need for entertainment is also increasing, and music therefore plays a very important role in our spiritual life. Music is a connecting link that brings people closer together. To be successful, a song not only needs a good melody and touching words, but also an impressive title, which does attract listeners. In this research, we focus on analyzing 200 Vietnamese and English song titles about love between couples collected from the internet in order to find out the similarities and differences in the way the titles are made in terms of structure and semantics in Vietnamese and English language.
