Abstract
The 2018 General Education Program has brought significant innovations to the Literature subject, aiming to comprehensively develop students’ language and literary abilities. Teaching reading comprehension in Literature in the general education program emphasizes equipping students with the necessary skills to be autonomous in accessing and processing information from texts, instead of focusing only on memorizing knowledge. The article focuses on suggesting strategies for teaching reading comprehension to high school students to meet the requirements of forming and developing learners’ abilities according to the orientation of the subject program and the general education program.
