Abstract
This study investigates the challenges in essay writing skills among third-year English-majored
students at the Academy of Finance, identifying key factors that affect their writing proficiency. Using a
mixed-method approach that combines survey data from 126 students and interviews with 10 lecturers, the
research employs statistical tools such as EFA and regression analysis to analyze influencing variables.
The study offers targeted recommendations to improve instructional methods and foster more effective
writing habits in academic contexts.
