DEVELOPING TECHNICAL CREATIVITY BASED ON THE STEM EDUCATION MODEL FOR ENGINEERING STUDENTS
Abstract
In the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, technical creativity is one of the fundamental
skills and has become a key task in technology and engineering education. In this paper, we analyze the
development of technical creativity competence for engineering students based on the STEM education
model. Starting from the definitions of “competence” and “creativity,” we propose a definition of
technical creativity competence. By analyzing the STEM education model, along with the characteristics
and principles of technical creativity, the author proposes a process for developing technical creativity
based on the STEM model for engineering students. Applying this process, the author guided students in
designing a smart house model. This activity helps students develop their technical creativity competence.
