MEASURES TO DEVELOP MATHEMATICAL COMMUNICATION ABILITY FOR GRADE 3 STUDENTS IN TEACHING NUMBERS AND CALCULATIONS

Abstract
This study studied mathematical communication skills and identified common difficulties students
encounter in mathematical communication. Using a qualitative research method with the participation of
35 third-grade students at Nguyen Binh Khiem Primary School, Thanh Khe District, Da Nang City. The
results showed that students had difficulty when mathematical ideas were explained through numbers,
when converting texts with mathematical situations into mathematical models. Many students were not
able to solve problems that required deep thinking
