THE IMPACT OF EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY (EDTECH) ON K12 STUDENTS’ MOTIVATION TO LEARN ENGLISH: A CASE STUDY AT HSE HIGH SCHOOL, HA TINH

This report investigates the impact of Educational Technology (EdTech) on Grade 10 students’
motivation to learn English at Ha Tinh School of Excellence, Vietnam. Extrinsic motivation in terms of
enjoyment, personal development and intrinsic one including grades and rewards were examined using
a mixed methods approach that employed 269 surveys participants, 10 students and 3 teachers taking
part in interviews, and classroom observations. The findings in decade that while distractions, a lack of
internet, and restricted device access reduce motivation, gamification, interaction, and tailored feedback
increase it. To enhance EdTech benefits, the study recommends applying infrastructure upgrades as well
as specialized training.
