Abstract
This qualitative study explores teachers’ perceptions of using an English-only environment in
EFL classrooms. Data were collected through interviews with five teachers from two language centers in
Can Tho City. Findings reveal that an immersive English setting enhances students’ fluency, vocabulary
retention, and communication skills. However, challenges such as student anxiety and language
limitations were noted. Teachers shared strategies like using authentic materials and technology to
maintain immersion. The study highlights both the potential and practical difficulties of English-only
instruction and suggests that flexible, supportive approaches are essential for successful implementation.
