SOME WRITING RATERS’ ERRORS IN VSTEP AND SUGGESTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENT

Abstract

Writing has been considered an important part of Vietnamese standardized test of English
proficiency known as VSTEP. In fact, the candidates’ writing results depend heavily on objectivity and
impartiality of professional raters. The paper digs deep into some common errors made by writing VSTEP
raters and suggests some solutions for improvement.
