Abstract
The article designs some teaching situations for the Quadrilateral chapter - Math 8 in the direction
of developing mathematical thinking and reasoning abilities. The article analyzed the manifestations of
students’ mathematical thinking and reasoning abilities during the teaching of the Quadrilateral chapter.
Presented the design of 2 teaching situations: Teaching the concept of isosceles trapezoid; Teaching the
properties of isosceles trapezoid. The situations have been tested experimentally, proving their feasibility
and effectiveness, contributing to the orientation of innovation in teaching methods of Mathematics in
secondary schools
