Abstract
In the context of digital transformation in higher education, the application of Artificial
Intelligence (AI) in teaching offers significant opportunities for pedagogical innovation. This paper
analyzes theoretical and practical foundations and proposes an AI-based model to support lecturers in
teaching Calculus, a fundamental course in many university programs. The proposed model consists of
four components: (1) an intelligent lesson preparation system, (2) an AI-supported classroom teaching
system, (3) an adaptive learning and assessment system, and (4) an open learning data repository with
analytical tools. The model operates through a five-step process: preparation, instruction, learning support,
data analysis, and improvement. This paper contributes to both theoretical and practical discussions
on the integration of AI into university mathematics teaching, particularly in Calculus courses, thereby
supporting the modernization and quality enhancement of higher education in the digital era.
