Abstract
This paper presents the experimental investigation on the effect of electrode inclination angle
in the MAG welding process on the weld bead geometry and mechanical properties of low-carbon steel
joints in the 1G position. By varying the electrode angle from 60° to 120°, the study evaluates changes in
penetration depth, bead width, reinforcement height, and tensile strength of the welds. The results indicate
that the electrode inclination angle significantly affects the geometric characteristics and mechanical
quality of the welds. An optimal electrode angle is proposed to enhance welding stability and overall joint
quality
