Abstract
This action research investigates the effectiveness of the flipped classroom compared to
traditional teaching in the English Teaching Methodology course at Dai Nam University. Conducted
over eleven weeks with two classes of English majors, one class applied the flipped model while the
other received traditional lectures. Findings from observations, surveys, and assessments indicate that
the flipped classroom promoted higher engagement, stronger collaboration, and improved learning
outcomes. However, the results also suggest that its success depends on appropriate adjustments, such as
clear guidelines and manageable learning materials. The study concludes that, with proper adaptation,
the flipped model can serve as a valuable approach to enhance teaching and learning effectiveness in
higher education, particularly in English teaching methodology courses at Dai Nam University
