ENHANCING STUDENTS’ SELF-LEARNING ABILITY IN ENGLISH THROUGH DIGITAL PLATFORMS IN AN OPEN LEARNING ECOSYSTEM
Abstract
This study examines how university students enhance their English self-learning ability through
digital platforms within an open learning ecosystem. Using mixed methods, the research investigates
students’ use of Learning Management Systems (LMS), mobile learning applications, online videos,
and AI chatbots to improve motivation, autonomy, and learning outcomes. Findings show that digital
tools significantly contribute to developing self-regulated learning skills, although challenges remain
in sustaining focus and selecting appropriate learning resources. The paper proposes pedagogical and
technological solutions for designing effective digital learning environments that foster lifelong learning
competencies for students in the context of educational digital transformation
