Abstract
The article presents the factors affecting the career counseling needs of Non-Commissioned
Officers and Soldiers at Division 312, Army Corps 12. These factors are classified into two groups: subjective
and objective factors. Subjective factors include self-awareness and career value orientation, decisionmaking ability, career motivation, and personal confidence, as well as educational background and social
experience. Objective factors include the influence of family, unit support, labor market dynamics, postservice policies, and unit cultural traditions. The findings highlight that the interaction between subjective
and objective factors plays a crucial role in shaping and expressing career counseling needs, thereby
improving the effectiveness of career guidance activities in the Vietnam People’s Army today
