Abstract
In the context of value globalization and the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0),
postmodern trends and new liberalism are exerting profound influences on spiritual life, particularly
within Vietnamese universities. This paper argues that lecturers of political theory need to identify,
“decode,” and critically assess these ideological tendencies to strengthen students’ political conviction
and resilience. By analyzing their origins, characteristics, and impacts, the study highlights common
manifestations among students, such as skepticism toward absolute truths, emphasis on individualism,
and depoliticization of education. Based on these insights, the paper proposes a reform of political theory
teaching toward a critical and dialogical approach, integrating Marxist–Leninist values and Ho Chi
Minh’s thought with modern pedagogical methods, aiming to enhance students’ political–critical thinking
and safeguard the ideological foundation of the Party
