Teaching STEAM topic for 2nd grade students in primary school in Thu Duc city, Ho Chi Minh city

Abstract

STEAM is an abbreviation of the words Science, Teachnology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. STEAM has interference with other teaching orientations that are interested by modern educators, STEAM teaching is an interdisciplinary approach, theoretical concepts in the lesson are integrated into the situations of the real world. From there, it shows that STEAM education is an appropriate choice with the current trend of education with primary school level in Vietnam today. Teaching STEAM topics for 2nd grade students at primary schools under the General Education Program 2018 helps students to develop the following general competencies: Self-study ability; Problem solving and creativity; Aesthetic competence; Physical capacity; Communication capacity; Cooperation capacity; Computational capacity; Information and communication technology capabilities.
