Applying augmented reality technology in teaching 10th grade Chemistry to develop students’ self-study ability

Abstract
Self-study is important competency to develop for students in teaching Chemistry. Developing the self-study competency for students can be used in many ways, in which teaching with augmented reality (AR) technology is of interest. This article proposes measures to develop students’ self-study competency through teaching and applying AR with the “Construction of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements” and “Ionic Bonding”. The results of the pedagogical experiments were statistically processed, proving that teaching with AR has developed the self-study competency for students.
