Developing math communication competence for 3rd graders through teaching math

Abstract

Mathematical communication ability is one of the five competencies that need to be formed and developed for students in teaching Mathematics. The mean used in mathematical communication is mathematical language and natural language, in which mathematical language plays a main role. In teaching fact, teachers are still confused when there are no effective measures to develop students’ mathematical communication capacity. This paper proposes measures to develop mathematical communication capacity for 3rd grade students in teaching Mathematics.
