Application of information technology in teaching English subject in the direction of capacity development of university students

Abstract

The article uses the written survey method to survey 104 lecturers in order to assess the current status of information technology application in English teaching in the direction of developing university students’ capacity. The results of this study show that the majority of lecturers believe that the application of information technology plays an important role in teaching English in the direction of developing university students’ capacity, but understand the concept of technology application. Information in teaching English in the direction of developing university students’ ability is only average. All lecturers apply information technology in teaching English in the direction of developing university students’ capacity, but only apply information technology in teaching English in the direction of developing university students’ competencies in university. average level (mean average=2.22). The factor “Lecturers’ understanding of the concept of information technology application in teaching English in the direction of developing university students’ ability” has the most influence and the factor “Ability to apply information technology in English teaching by lecturers” has the least influence on the current situation of information technology application in English teaching in the direction of developing university students’ competence.
