Designing Profinet communication between PLC S7-1500 and SERVO motor in industrial Robot for teaching purpose

Abstract

Industrial robots are used in smart factories for assembly, production or transportation. The robot is monitored and controlled by a program written in the PLC, and the robot has the ability to feedback information to correct the operation. Many factories have used communication between PLC and robots by Profinet network in the past few years. In this article, I present a model that controls servo motors for industrial robots using PLC S7-1500 through Profinet industrial network for teaching students of control and automation.
