Assessing the presentation ability in English of third year students majoring in Tourism and Travel Service Management at Ha Long University.

Abstract

Oral presentations in English is one of the most important skills for students specializing in Tourism. This skill is necessary to create job opportunities and to better fulfill work tasks in the future. Through teaching English for Tourism majors to third-year Tourism and Travel Management students, I have observed their limitations in English presentation abilities. With the goals of improving English presentation skill of students and training qualified staff to meet the recruitment needs of businesses, the writing is focused on studying the oral presentation skills of third-year Tourism and Travel Management students, analyzing the difficulties and errors that students face in presentations, understanding the aspirations of students to better public speaking, and proposing suggestions to improve public speaking skills.
