Difficulties in learning Russian of first-year students at People’s Security Academy and solutions

Abstract

In recent years, the use of Russian language in Vietnam has no longer been as popular as it was nearly two decades ago. However, the importance of teaching and learning Russian remains undeniable. Russian is a difficult subject for students in general and for first-year students at People’s Security Academy in particular. The article focuses on analyzing the subjective and objective difficulties that students encounter. On that basis, the author offers some solutions to improve the effectiveness of learning Russian for students in the coming time.
