Abstract: This paper discusses the utilization of the Smith Predictor for compensating time delays in control systems. Time delay is a factor that often undermines system stability, making it crucial to mitigate its effects for enhanced system stability. The Smith Predictor is one mathematical model used to characterize the structure of the delay component in a control system. This model not only elegantly describes the structure of the delay component but also provides an intuitive explanation of the compensation process.
