Abstract

In 2019, the Hanoi University of Science and Technology officially implemented supplementary modules in its undergraduate training program, incorporating design-related modules into the curriculum for students across the university. Industrial Design and Engineering Design Thinking are among that group of complementary modules. Design thinking is one of the core components of the Industrial Design module. Teaching design thinking not only equips students with knowledge but also helps them develop a comprehensive view of product design and propose ideas for improvement and product development. The incorporation of design thinking into teaching by lecturers has also contributed to the enhancement of the course’s quality. This opens up possibilities for the application of design thinking in teaching, not only in the Industrial Design module.
