Developing critical thinking in the adult EFL classroom

Abstract

Developing students’ critical thinking has been one of the major concerns of teachers of English. Being proficient in a foreign language is not only about using the language with accuracy and fluency, but also being able to demonstrate your thinking through language. The study aims to discuss how to develop critical thinking in the adult ÈL classroom. The paper focuses on two main aspects; including the definition of critical thinking, and some recommendations on how to enhance EFL students’ critical thinking.
