Building a data system to support extensive reading activities in teaching 4th grade Vietnamese

Abstract

Extensive reading is a mandatory activity in the 2018 General Education Program. In a year, students need to read at least 35 literary texts and 18 informational texts. When organizing this activity, teachers and students have a tough time obtaining texts that fulfill the genre, text length, and text number requirements. This article aims to present the bases, principles and procedures for building a corpus system to support extensive reading activities for 4th grade students.
