The role of Chatbots in improving learners’ speaking skills

Abstract

Speaking English is crucial and advantageous for all students. However, attaining precise and fluent English speaking skills has been difficult for many learners due to the scarcity of English-speaking environments, resulting in limited language proficiency and hesitation to speak. AI technologies are recommended for foreign language education because of their flexibility, interactivity, and learner-centered approach, which enhance oral communication. Therefore, this study proposes that incorporating AI voice chatbots into lesson plans could be beneficial for teaching and learning activities.
