Abstract
This study evaluates Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) effectiveness in improving English communication skills at the People’s Police College II. A 9-week experiment with 120 participants compared TBLT and traditional methods. Data collection included tests, surveys, interviews, and observations. TBLT group showed significant improvement in communication skills (50.3% vs 22.8% in the control group, p < .001, d = 1.27), especially in speaking (55.2%) and listening (48.7%). TBLT enhanced learning motivation and real-life application. The study proposes integrating TBLT into the College’s curriculum and points out future research directions on the long-term impact of TBLT on the English language use in the practical work of police officers.
