Research on quantitative determination of pharmaceuticals using RAMAN spectroscopy method

Abstract

With its advantages, Raman spectroscopy is being considered for applications in the pharmaceutical field. Acetaminophen and phenylpropanolamine hydrochloride are two main components of the cold medicine Decolsin. In this study, their contents were quantitatively determined by Raman spectroscopy, and compared with the results obtained by liquid chromatography. The results show the prospect of applying Raman spectroscopy to quantitatively analyze pharmaceutical ingredients.
