Situation of learning listening skills of first-year students majoring in English at Hung Vuong University

Abstract

Listening skill is one of the most important skills that influences other skills in learning English. However, in reality, the majority of learners face many difficulties in listening comprehension, such as limited vocabulary, unfamiliarity with accents, and connected speech used by native speakers. Therefore, this study was conducted as part of research at Hùng Vương University (Phú Thọ province) with the participation of 83 first-year English-major students to explore the current state of listening skills learning among first-year English majors.
