Teaching and learning American literature for English language students share general interests related to reading habits, reading culture or reading purpose; having passion for reading or reading to meet the course requirement. In general, learning literature is not limited in one country but it is universal worldwide a compulsory subject in the teaching programs, so all students have to learn; although English language program is more flexible for students when the two subjects are arranged as electives, students have to choose one of them to fulfill their credits.
