Abstract
Artificial Intelligence tools or AI-powered apps are increasingly popular and have become
an inevitable trend in education in general and foreign language teaching in particular. AI-powered
apps offer a number of potential benefits, including personalized learning experiences, enhanced access
to education, increased student engagement, real-time feedback, and facilitating the development of a
variety of language skills. However, using AI-powered apps also poses ethical challenges, digital divide,
overreliance on technology, and issues arising during implementation. This article synthesizes the
benefits and challenges of using AI-powered apps to provide suggestions for exploiting the transformative
potential of AI to create a more effective and equitable English learning environment.
