FOSTERING CREATIVITY IN PRESCHOOL CHILDREN THROUGH FREE DRAWING ACTIVITIES COMBINED WITH OPEN-ENDED MATERIALS
Abstract
Creativity is a crucial capacity that should be nurtured from early childhood, and free drawing
combined with open-ended materials plays an effective role in fostering this ability in preschool children.
This article presents the theoretical foundation for the role of visual arts activities in developing creativity
and examines the current practices of organizing free drawing activities using open-ended materials
in preschools in An Giang province, Vietnam. Based on the analysis of survey data, the study proposes
pedagogical strategies to improve the effectiveness of this activity, emphasizing the role of teachers, open
learning environments, and collaboration with families. The findings affirm the educational significance
and practical value of creative arts in promoting the comprehensive development of preschool children.
