MEASURES TO TRAIN SENTENCE WRITING SKILLS FOR HEARING IMPAIRED STUDENTS IN DONG THAP PROVINCE

Abstract

This initiative focuses on proposing several competency-based teaching approaches to improve
sentence-writing skills for students with hearing impairments at the Children with Disabilities School,
Dong Thap province. It is based on the observation that many of these students have limited vocabulary,
lack a solid grasp of sentence structure, and experience significant challenges in expressing themselves
through written language. The initiative introduces three core strategies: implementing visual instruction
combined with sign language to enhance vocabulary acquisition; developing sentence construction skills
through image-based communication; and organizing experiential learning activities to enable students
to apply written language in real-life contexts.
