FOSTERING A LIBERAL-ORIENTED SCHOOL CULTURE: INSIGHTS FROM VIETNAMESE EDUCATIONAL PRACTICE
Abstract
This article focuses on clarifying the theoretical foundations of school culture oriented
towards liberal education in the context of educational reform in Vietnam. By analyzing the concepts,
characteristics, and roles of school culture, the paper approaches liberal education as a humanistic and
holistic development direction, contributing to the formation of a democratic, creative, and inclusive
educational environment. Based on the analysis of current practices at several educational institutions
in Vietnam, the article highlights initial positive changes as well as existing barriers in the process of
developing school culture in a liberal direction. The findings provide theoretical and practical insights to
promote awareness and actions toward renewing school culture in line with the spirit of liberal education
in modern times.
