THE CURRENT SITUATION AND SOLUTIONS TO ENHANCE SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH ACTIVITIES OF LECTURERS AT LAO CAI COLLEGE

Abstract

During the five years from 2020 to 2024, 226 lecturers at Lao Cai College completed 63
scientific research projects and papers. Of these, 50 papers (accounting for 79.37%) were published in
domestic scientific journals and were conducted by 72 lecturers. In 2024 alone, 30 projects and papers
were completed, representing 47.6% of the total for the entire period. Scientific research activities among
lecturers remain limited, primarily due to the absence of mandatory research requirements for faculty
members and inadequate institutional support, especially during the 2020–2023 period, among other
contributing factors. To strengthen scientific research efforts, Lao Cai College must implement five
strategic solutions, while each lecturer should commit to four key responsibilities.
