THE ROLE OF STRUCTURED FEEDBACK IN DEVELOPING TRANSLATION SKILLS FOR THIRD YEAR - ENGLISH MAJOR STUDENTS AT HANOI UNIVERSITY OF NATURAL RESOURCES AND ENVIRONMENT
Tóm tắt
In higher education, the development of academic writing skills is crucial, especially for Englishmajored students. At Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment (HUNRE), enhancing
students’ academic writing has been a strategic focus. This study explores third-year English-majored
students’ perceptions, preferences, and attitudes toward teachers’ written feedback in essay writing courses.
Based on data from 56 students enrolled in the Writing Skills course at HUNRE, the research reveals that
feedback is frequently provided and plays a significant role in shaping writing abilities. While students
largely view feedback positively and are motivated to improve, some express challenges in understanding
or applying feedback. The findings suggest that written feedback remains essential but must be balanced,
targeted, and student-centered to maximize its effectiveness in Vietnamese EFL contexts.
