Abstract

Abstract: Rhythm, intonation is considered one of the basic elements of all languages in the world. Rhythm and intonation play a very important role in teaching and learning foreign languages. Good rhythm and intonation is not only beneficial for expressing thoughts but also helps learners improve communication efficiently. Correct rhythm and intonation are the keys to fluent English. It can be said that rhythm and intonation are the music of English. The stressed word is the key to understand the conveyance and using the right intonation will give the correct meaning of the sentence. In the process of teaching rhythm and intonation, teachers need to understand the principles of word stress, sentence stress as well as how to use intonation for each type of sentence. To make good use of the method of teaching rhythm and intonation in English sentences, it requires a deep understanding of the teacher about stress and intonation.
