The current situation of English writing skills of students majoring in Telecommunications Engineering at the University of Transport and Communications

Abstract

Writing skill is considered a difficult skill in learning foreign languages in general and English in particular. This study uses quantitative method to collect information about the difficulties that students of the University of Transport and Communications are facing in the process of practicing English writing skills for the telecommunications engineering major. The results have pointed out a number of outstanding problems such as: students lack knowledge about the writing process and self-practice, rely too much on teachers in correcting errors
