Using translation applications in learning foreign languages –benefits, challenges and solutions

Abstract

Using translation applications in learning foreign languages is an inevitable trend in the era of scientific and technological development. Translation applications have become more and more modern with various functions, which brings several benefits to foreign language learners. However, besides the benefits, there are challenges that learners face when using translation applications. The article provides some basic benefits and challenges, and suggests some solutions for the translation applications to be used effectively in foreign language learning.
