Teaching statistical elements to develop mathematical thinking and reasoning abilities for primary school students

Abstract

In primary school, Mathematics plays an important role and position, contributing to the formation and comprehensive development of both the qualities and abilities of learners. The goal of Mathematics in the 2018 General Education Program is: “Formation and development of mathematical competence including core elements: mathematical thinking and reasoning competence; modeling competence; mathematical problem solving competence; mathematical communication competence; competence to use tools and means to learn mathematics, which contribute to the formation and development of common core competencies.”
