Building virtual models on computers for Single-Phase power transformers in teaching electrical machine

Abstract

The transformer is an important device in the electrical system. This article introduces a virtual model designed within the EMTP software for testing a single-phase power transformer. The models presented in this study emulate real-world tests such as the no-load test, short-circuit test, and load test with high accuracy. This virtual laboratory model is attractive to students and helps them to gain a deeper understanding of the operational aspects of power transformers, from which they can apply it in real practice.
