Proverbs are an important part of Vietnamese and Chinese, an invaluable linguistic treasure, reflecting the development process of the two nations' languages, so proverbs are always an attractive and engaging topic. book researchers. Besides, the phenomenon of antonyms also shows unique characteristics in the language of each nation. Combining research on antonyms in proverbs is a direction that needs attention. This article would like to address the semantic issue of antonyms in Vietnamese and Chinese proverbs based on the analysis of relationships between single-meaning words, single-meaning words with polysemous words, and between words with multiple meanings. , thereby partly showing the similarities and differences in the two languages.
