Simulating short circuits using EMTP software in teaching Short circuits in electrical systems

Abstract

This article aims to develop an EMTP simulation model for analyzing 3- phase symmetrical and unsymmetrical faults. All types of faults in distribution power systems such as three-line fault, single- line to ground fault, line to line fault, line to line to ground fault have been simulated and their impacts on the system will be considered. This simulation supports students in better understanding the properties of short circuit phenomena.
